Clemson could only muster five singles against Georgia pitching in an 2-0 loss at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Tuesday. The Tigers had won five straight games dating back to March 21st before falling to the Bulldogs. Carter Raffield (0-2) took the loss after giving up two runs over 3 and 1/3 innings. Relievers Rasesh Pandya, Evan Estridge and Rob Hughes shut down Georgia the rest of the way, but the Tigers bats never responded.
Clemson (12-10) also saw its consecutive streak of scoring in a game snapped at 144 games. Shortstop James Parker, now batting .378, was the lone Tiger to register more than one hit (2 for 4).
The Tigers will try to get back on track when they travel to Raleigh, NC, this weekend for an ACC series against NC State. Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday.
