The season is grinding to a close for the USC men’s basketball team and head coach Frank Martin said Tuesday this season’s team has been the one out of all his teams that hasn’t developed a personality. And for a Martin team, that means being more physical than the opponent, gaining more loose balls than the opponent and imposing your will defensively on an opponent.

Martin said none of that has come to fruition for this team which is mired in a 5 game losing streak and losses in 9 of its last 11 going into Wednesday night’s game at Mississippi State.

Martin also said guard Jermain Couisnard was able to practice some Monday and will practice again today. The doctors will then determine if he’s able to play Wednesday. Couisnard suffered an ankle injury early in the loss to Ole Miss and has missed the last two games.

Tuesday Martin previewed Wednesday’s game in Starkville. The Gamecocks lost to the Bulldogs in Columbia February 6th 75-59 after trailing by just a point with 13:44 to play.
