Anthony Rose

USC target SAF Anthony Rose (6-4 180) of Hallandale, FL has set Tuesday at 3:00 PM for his commitment announcement date.  Saturday he named a top three of USC, Penn State and Arizona. New USC secondary coach Torrian Gray, not long after arriving in Columbia, offered the entire Hallandale secondary which is coached by former Auburn standout Junior Rosegreen. One of those defensive backs offered by Gray, Jaylin Marshall, last week committed to Arizona State. Rose is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked 24th nationally among safeties.

It’s also announcement week for Clemson quarterback target Ty Simpson of Martin, TN. He is set to reveal his choice Friday at 3:00 PM, a week later than previously scheduled due to the winter storm that hit his area last week. Simpson has been deciding between Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

DT Mykel Williams of Columbus, GA, who announces March 15th, did not include Clemson in his top 5 list in an article with DawgNation.  He cited Southern Cal, Georgia, LSU, Kentucky and Florida as his top five.

DE Cyrus Moss of Las Vegas has Clemson in his top 11. The others are Alabama, Michigan State, Southern Cal, Arizona State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Florida, Oregon, Oklahoma and Penn State.

New USC offers:

  • DE Kaleb Artis (6-5 270) of Fresh Meadows, NY. He’s rated a 3-star in the 247Sports Composite and ranked 30th nationally among defensive tackles.
  • DE Nyjalik Kelly (6-4 235) of Ft. Lauderdale. He’s rated a three-star and ranked the #28 defensive end nationally in the 247Sports Composite.
  • DE Tyreese Fearbry (6-5 205) of Pittsburgh.  He’s rated a four-star and ranked the #16 weakside defensive end nationally.  Among his other offers are Pitt, Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, Coastal Carolina and Michigan State. 
  • 2023 SAF Sylvester Smith (6-2 193) of Munford, AL.

Clemson offered DE DJ Wesolak (6-6 230) of Boonville, MO. He’s rated a 3-star and ranked 21st nationally among defensive ends in the 247Sports Composite. Some of his other offers include Oregon, Michigan, Notre Dame, Missouri, Texas A&M and Stanford.

DT Alex VanSumeren (6-3 285) of Essexville, MI was offered by Clemson. He’s rated a 4-star and ranked the #16 DT nationally in the 247Sports Composite.

CB Denver Harris of Houston, who announced an offer from Clemson last June, named a top four of Alabama, Texas, LSU and Texas A&M.

USC target QB Drew Allar of Medina, OH was offered by Georgia Tech.

SAF Ashton Whitner (6-0 188) of Greenville was offered by Indiana and Tulane.

Myrtle Beach QB Ryan Burger was offered by Furman.

Lakewood SAF Zay Wells was offered by Georgia State.

Spartanburg punter/kicker William Joyce plans to join USC in the fall as a preferred walk-on.
