Parker and the Tigers broom the Bearcats out of #Clemson 8-7 (AUDIO)

Clemson pitching wasn’t as good Sunday as it had been in the first two games of the series, but shortstop James Parker and the Tigers offense bailed out the staff with a walkoff 8-7 win in 10 innings at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Sunday. The sweep was in doubt before Parker drove home Dylan Brewer with the deciding run in the bottom of the 10th.

For the second game in a row, freshman Blake Wright scored the first run of the game as he was aboard when right fielder Dylan Brewer drove a 3-2 pitch out to left center for a two-run homer. Two batters later, James Parker matched the feat with a two-run blast down the left field line. But Cincinnati battled back with two runs in the second off freshman lefthander Caden Grice (0-0,

Between Davis Sharpe’s RBI double in the fifth and Brewer’s single in the 10th, Bearcats pitching retired 13 consecutive Tigers, but Clemson rose to the occasion with three consecutive hits including Parker’s game-winner.

The Tigers return to action against rival South Carolina, Friday at 4 p.m. Game 1 is at Doug Kingsmore Stadium followed by Game 2 in Greenville and Game 3 at Founders Park in Columbia.
