
Wes Clarke hit two more home runs, and USC totaled 5 big flies on the day, in winning for the second straight day over Dayton 12-5 at Founders Park. Clarke now has three homers in two games this season. He was joined in the long-ball parade by Braylen Wimmer, Brady Allen and Colin Burgess. The Gamecocks have hit seven home runs in the first two games of the season opening series.
Brannon Jordan started for the Gamecocks and picked 4 innings. He allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, 2 hits and 4 walks. He struck out 4. Four relivers worked the final 5 innings and allowed 1 hit and 1 run. Andrew Peters worked 2 scoreless innings to earn the victory.
The Gamecocks will go for the series sweep on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for Noon.
