The USC baseball season starts in ten days and coach Mark Kingston feels his team is rounding into shape. He has settled on his starting first baseman with David Mendham holding the job right now, but competition continues at shortstop and centerfield. Those starters will be determined thru intrasquad scrimmages the next week.
Kingston has not announced his weekend rotation but Thomas Farr, Julian Bosnic and Brannon Jordan figure to be the big three.
The Gamecocks will open their season next weekend with a three game series against Dayton.
