
4th ranked USC set a program record with its 25th straight SEC regular season win Sunday afternoon 87-63 over Alabama. The Gamecocks have won 28 straight in SEC competition and 12 straight league games at home. Sunday’s win also was their 18th straight over Alabama and their 11th straight win on the season. They are now 14-1 overall and 9-0 in the SEC.
The Gamecocks actually trailed at the break 41-40 but outscored the Crimson Tide in the second half 47-22.
The backcourt of Zia Cooke, Destanni Henderson and Brea Beal combined for 46 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Cooke led the way with 21 points. Henderson dished out 7 assists and Beal grabbed 6 rebounds.
The team’s second leading scorer Aliyah Boston, who came in averaged 14 points per game, was held to just 6 points on 2-10 shooting, but she did pull down 13 rebounds, hand out 6 assists and block 3 shots.
Next up for the Gamecocks will be a Thursday night game at Auburn.
