USC forward Alanzo Frink will miss the rest of the season Gamecock coach Frank Martin announced Tuesday morning. Martin did not disclose why Frink has been shut down but he implied the reason was related to a severe case of Covid-19. He said Frink would speak on the matter with the media at another time.

Frink is a 6-8 junior from Jersey City who Martin called their best inside player. He was able to play in only three games this season and averaged 3 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Martin said forward Jalyn McCreary was back at practice Monday and expects him to be able to play Wednesday night against Georgia. With the exception of Frink, Martin said everyone is now able to practice.

As for his own issues with Covid for a second time, Martin said on a scale of ten he’s at a six. He said if he weren’t dedicated to his players and the school’s administration, he would opt out and concentrate on his health.
