Zia Cooke had 11 points as USC won it’s 23rd straight SEC regular season game (SEC Provided)

The USC Women won their 23rd straight SEC regular season game, 26th in a row counting last year’s tournament, their 20th straight road game and their 11th in a row over LSU Sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge 69-65. The Tigers led 45-43 heading into the final quarter, and scored the first basket of the final stanza to go up four. But the Gamecocks responded with a 9-0 run and held on from there.

USC won despite making just 2-15 three point shots and missing 12 free throws. But they dominated inside with 48 points in the paint, and regularly beat the Tigers down the floor finishing with 30 fastbreak points to 6 for the Tigers.

Aliyah Boston led USC with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Destanni Henderson added 16 points and 11 assists.

The 4th ranked Gamecocks are now 12-1 overall and 7-0 in the SEC and will play at Mississippi State Thursday night.
