Shane Beamer has only been the head coach at USC for two-plus weeks, and he inherited a group of nine commitments when he replaced Will Muschamp. Seven of those commitments signed on Wednesday. It’s a class short on numbers, but in Beamer’s mind, it’s a class of character guys who want to be Gamecocks, and that’s a step in the right direction in his rebuilding process. And the class is far from done. There could be more additions before the week is out, and certainly in February as Beamer works all avenues for acquiring talent.
