Clemson gets its do-over with Notre Dame Saturday night in Charlotte in the ACC Championship Game. For the Tigers, it’s win or go home as far as the national playoff is concerned. The Tigers won nine of their ten regular season games. That lone loss was the game of the year in college football, a double-overtime loss at Notre Dame. For Clemson to advance to the CFP for a sixth straight season, in all likelihood a win over the Irish is a must. Clemson is now favored by 10.5 points.
The Tigers are much healthier now than when the teams met in November. Trevor Lawrence is back at quarterback along with several defensive players who missed the game. One of those is linebacker Jamie Skalski, who had a sports hernia. He returned for the Virginia Tech game but was limited. In a conference call with the media Sunday night, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney did not totally commit to Skalski being able to play. He also confirmed linebacker Jake Venables is out for the rest of the season with a broken arm.
