South Carolina scored its most points of the season Saturday night at Ole Miss. The Gamecocks had a season high 548 yards and averaged over 8 yards per snap. It wasn’t nearly enough. Led by quarterback Matt Corral, Ole Miss did anything it wanted to do against the Gamecocks defense eventually pulling away to a 59-42 victory in the third highest scoring SEC regular season game in history. The Gamecocks led 42-38 with 12:50 to play, but the Rebels scored the game’s final 21 points. Corral passed for a school record 513 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 28-32 thru the air and had a QB rating of 263.4. He outshined Gamecock running back Kevin Harris, who set a program record with 5 rushing touchdowns and had the 5th best single game rushing performance in school history with 243 yards, the most ever for the Gamecocks in a SEC game. None of the Gamecocks’ offensive exploits, however, were enough because the Gamecock defense could not stop the Lane Train. The Gamecocks are now 2-5 and are scheduled to host Missouri next Saturday night.

Final Stats

Someone finally figured this out. It’s not about a bad QB, or a line that won’t block, Carolina can score with the best of them But WE DON”T HAVE A DEFENSE, Can’t stop the run and certainally can’t stop the pass!! For a Head coach that’s suppose to be so great on defense, he hasn’t done a thing!! Mushchamp HAS TO GO!!
