Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney addressed the media via Zoom following the Tigers practice, Wednesday. Clemson is preparing for a top-10 showdown with Miami at Death Valley at 7:30, Saturday. The Hurricanes have long recruited at a high level, but are especially dangerous when they find a fit at quarterback. It appears Houston transfer D’Eriq King is such a quarterback. During the Canes’ 3-0 start, King has completed 66.7% of his passes for six touchdowns and no interceptions.

While it’s fair to say King hasn’t faced a defense like Clemson’s, the Tigers have yet to see a player like King this season. Swinney acknowledged the challenge in front of his defensive line, “It’s a big test …. you’re playing a three-phase quarterback. He can beat you with his mind, legs and arm.”

Clemson has enjoyed blowout victories in the last two meetings (38-3 in 2017, 58-0 in 2015) and roll into this contest as a 14-point favorite.
