Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media via Zoom after practice, Wednesday. Swinney was peppered with questions about the Big Ten’s entry into the fall football season and how that might affect the race for the College Football Playoff. Swinney pointed out how happy he is for the players and coaches of the Big Ten conference that have been working so hard for this opportunity and welcomes them into the competition, even if they can’t pull off a full season. Swinney said, “In a year like this, we don’t know how many games there will be.”
Swinney also reacted to the news that the recruiting dead period has been extended through the calendar year, discussed the relative strength of the ACC, highlighted the importance of IPTAY and shared stories about Regan Upshaw.
Clemson is scheduled to host The Citadel at 4 p.m., Saturday, and the Tigers have opened as a 44.5-point favorite.
