Swinney and #Clemson making final preparations for Wake Forest (VIDEO)

Dabo Swinney is looking to lead Clemson to its 23rd consecutive win over ACC opponents (Clemson Athletics)

Head coach Dabo Swinney took questions from the media via Zoom, Wednesday, for the final time ahead of Clemson’s season opener. Saturday’s trip to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest marks the first time the Tigers are opening on the road against a conference opponent since 1996 (North Carolina). Clemson took a bad loss that day in Chapel Hill, but this time, it is the Tigers that are expected to deliver the blows as 33-point road favorites.

Among the topics Swinney addressed were how travel will be affected by social distancing, how the 2008 loss to Wake Forest changed the fortunes of both Swinney and Tommy Bowden, and how player availability lists will be shared between teams. Clemson will submit its list of available players through the medical staff Saturday morning following the results of the week’s third round of COVID testing. The game will be broadcast on ABC at 7:45.
