Touchstone Energy Bowl North-South Game sidelined for 2020

The Touchstone Energy Bowl will not be played in 2020, will return in 2021

Officials with the Touchstone Energy Bowl North-South All-Star Game announced Sunday afternoon this year’s game scheduled for December 12th at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium has been cancelled over issues related to Covid-19. Game directors Keith Richardson and Scott Earley, and Shell Dula, Executive Director of the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association, conferred over the weekend and determined the health and financial extenuating circumstances related to the pandemic were too much to overcome to put on the week-long event in 2020. The Shrine Bowl previously announced the cancellation of it’s game this year as well.

Earley was slated to be the head coach for the North team. He said the coaches scheduled to work the 2020 game will comprise the staffs for the 2021 event.
