Clemson was the overwhelming choice of the media who voted in the ACC pre-season poll to win the league championship. The Tigers received 132 of the 134 first place votes that were cast. Notre Dame received the other two first place votes. Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence was voted the pre-season player of the year and was joined by four teammates on the pre-season All-ACC Team. Lawrence was named on 100 ballots, and Clemson senior running back Travis Etienne – the ACC Player of the Year each of the past two seasons – received 30 votes. The pair have led Clemson to a combined 29-1 record over the past two seasons, highlighted by the national title two years ago and a berth in the CFP National Championship Game last January. The Tigers open their season September 12th at Wake Forest.
