#Gamecocks start to separate the men from the boys in Monday’s practice (VIDEO)

The full pads went on Monday for the first time in USC’s pre-season camp, so Will Muschamp and his staff got their first real good look in the two hour practice at what they have to work with this season. And with the news Monday from the AP that six of their ten opponents are ranked in the pre-season Top 25, Muschamp and company need to develop in camp a team much better than outsiders think they will become. Oddsmakers have put the over/under on wins for the Gamecocks at 3.5.

Here’s what Muschamp said about Monday’s practice in a statement provided by USC:

“I was really pleased coming off an off day Sunday with the guys coming out here and competing hard. I thought we came out and competed the right way. We had some missed opportunities offensively. We had a good red zone period and we had a good pressure period. We had some drops or we would have had some really explosive plays, so that’s disappointing. But I was really pleased with how the guys came out and competed.”

Following practice, offensive tackle Dylan Wonnum and defensive end Aaron Sterling were interviewed by USC Assistant AD for Athletics Communications and Public Relations Steve Fink who provided those interviews to the media.
