Javon Bullard

USC target CB Javon Bullard (5-11 165) of Milledgeville, GA plans to announce his commitment Monday. His top list has been USC, Georgia, Louisville, NC State, Pitt, Tennessee and West Virginia. The Gamecocks offered in May and Kyle Krantz has been leading the recruiting effort. Shortly after receiving his offer, Bullard shared his thoughts on the Gamecocks. “South Carolina is a great program I grew up watching South Carolina. Of course they are in the SEC. When they offered it was a for real moment for me.” The Gamecocks have one corner committed in the 2021 class. Ironically, that’s Marcellas Dial of Woodruff, but he attends Georgia Military JC in Milledgeville. The Gamecocks also lead for CB Dontae Balfour of Starke, FL. Bullard is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite, and he’s ranked the #66 cornerback prospect nationally. Bullard missed five games in his junior season but still managed 78 tackles with 2 interceptions.

USC target DE DeMarcus Smith of Birmingham has set August 21st for his decision. He has a top five of USC, Tennessee, Kansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

DT Luther McCoy (6-4 280) of Saint Augustine, FL named USC n his final five Sunday night. The others are Baylor, Minnesota, Tennessee and Georgia Tech. He cut from his previous short list Nebraska, Florida State, Duke, Penn State and NC State. McCoy has not visited USC so all he knows about the Gamecocks has come from his own due diligence and conversations with defensive line coach Tracy Rocker and head coach Will Muschamp. “I like the personalities. Especially Coach Rocker. He would be my coach. He’s a real good dude. He likes that I play hard, am athletic and strong. I’m explosive.” In the 247Sports Composite, The three-star rated McCoy is ranked the #62 defensive tackle prospect in the country and the 167th top prospect in Florida in his class.

Clemson target DE Monkell Goodwine (6-4 260) of Fort Washington, MD committed to Alabama Saturday.  He also had Clemson and Kentucky in his final three.

One-time USC target CB Khyree Jackson (6-3 197) of East Mississippi JC also committed to Alabama Saturday.  The Gamecocks were not in his final four which also included Oregon, Florida and Oklahoma. 

DE Omarion Hammond of AC Flora committed to Georgia State.

OF Elijah Lambros (6-2 195) of Fredericksburg, VA committed to USC.  Here’s a recent scouting report from Perfect Game:  “Big and strong athletic build. Excellent runner for his size, 6.56 in the sixty. Shows good arm strength and carry on his throws from the outfield. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance, long and extended swing with good strength at contact, has some lift and can create backspin and carry to the middle of the field.”
