SCHSL Executive Committee approves new fall plan (VIDEO)

A new fall sports plan presented by the South Carolina High School League staff to the Executive Committee received unanimous endorsement Wednesday morning. The plan delays the start of full football practice until September 8th with the first games now set for September 25th. The previous plan had practice starting August 17th and the season September 11th.

Football would have four-round playoff beginning November 13th, and the State Championship games would be played December 4th and 5th.

As for other fall sports, practices for girls golf, girls tennis and girls swimming can start August 17th with the first competition date set for two weeks later. Volleyball and cross country practice can commence 24th with competition to begin September 7th.

As for attendance, the committee approved allowing the league’s staff to make a proposal to the South Carolina Department of Commerce regarding restrictions.
