Both are rated as four-star dual threat quarterbacks in the 247Sports Composite. Davis is ranked 5th nationally and Simpson is ranked 3rd. Davis is the son of former Tennessee All-American offensive lineman Antone Davis. He also holds offers from Maryland, Washington State, Alabama, Florida, Oregon, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Michigan State, NC State and others.
Simpson is the son of the head coach at Tennessee-Martin. Some of his other offers are Northwestern, North Carolina, Arizona State, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma State, Florida, Nebraska, Auburn, Florida State, Arkansas, Southern Cal, LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Arkansas, Alabama and Oklahoma.
USC and Clemson target 7-0 Jonas Aidoo of Charlotte was offered by Rutgers.
