USC basketball coach Frank Martin replaced veteran assistant coach Perry Clark, who retired in June, with Will Bailey, a coach he’s known since his days coaching at Northeastern. Bailey has 15 years in the business, most recently the last four seasons at Saint Louis. While he loses an old basketball head in Clark, Martin picks up a high energy recruiter in Bailey, who has strong ties in Chicago and St. Louis in particular, but who also has a wide range of recruiting contacts. Friday Bailey met with media members who cover the Gamecocks for the first time since arriving in Columbia.
