#STRecruiting: Reeves has #Gamecocks in final five

Zyun Reeves

USC made the cut down Monday night with DE Zyun Reeves (6-7 245) of Kernersville, NC. He trimmed his list to a final five of USC, NC State, Virginia, Florida State and Michigan State. Reeves said the common factors among all five finalists are the constant contact he’s receiving and the overall feeling of love from the schools.

The Gamecocks were the first to make the move on him giving him an offer while he was in for a gameday visit November 9th.

“The way they’ve kept in contact and they were my first offer, so I’m always going to have love for them,” Reeves said of the Gamecocks.  “They hit me up every day with quotes and stuff.  And my family is not too far away from there and they’ve put multiple people in my position in the NFL.”

Reeves said there is no timeline for him on a decision, and he’d like to make official visits to his five schools before making that decision. And he knows he has more work to do on each school to be able to make an educated choice.

“To dig deeper into these five schools and focus on them and get more information about where I’m going to be for the next four years, maybe three,” Reeves said.  “Really a place where I feel at home.  Where I feel comfortable enough to stay four years, and the place that can help me make it to the next level.”

Reeves did say he had a favorite in mind but he did not want to disclose that.

Last season Reeves recorded 88 tackles with 13.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 18 quarterback hurries. He’s rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and ranked as the #46 strongside defensive end nationally in the 2021 class.
