Myzel Williams

Long-time USC target SAF Myzel Williams of Deltona, FL, who had set August 17th for his commitment announcement, has moved that up to Monday. Williams tweeted Saturday night he has made his decision from his final five of USC, Mississippi State, Cal, NC State and Louisville. What was the deciding factor for Williams? “The relationship with the coaching staff, life after football and level of competition.” USC offered Williams in December. He made an unofficial visit in January and sat down with Will Muschamp in his office. After that visit, he named the Gamecocks his favorite. But Mississippi State also has been a strong player for Williams and some analysts peg him for the Bulldogs. Williams is a three-star rated prospect by the 247Sports composite and is ranked the 103rd best safety in the country. He’s the 172nd ranked player in the state of Florida. Last season he had 28 tackles and 5 interceptions.

USC target WR Keon Coleman of Opelousas, LA has set July 4th for his announcement date. He is down to USC, Kansas and Oklahoma. He’s also a major basketball prospect and will play both sports in college. He has talked with Gamecock basketball coach Frank Martin during the recruiting process.

Clemson offered 6-8 PF Ian Schieffelin of Grayson, GA. He also has offers from Charlotte, Appalachian State, Elon, Georgia State, Richmond, Winthrop and James Madison. Schieffein reportedly played well Saturday in a travel team tournamted staged by OnTheRadarHoops.

JL Mann OF/LHP Tristan Bissetta committed to Clemson. In his last full season of 2019, Bissetta hit .286 with 3 homers and 11 RBIs according to MaxPreps stats. On the mound he was 1-2 with a 3.85 ERA in seven appearances.

Clemson also landed a commitment from RHP Josh Davis of Stratford. He originally committed to Charleston Southern. In his last full season in 2019, Davis was 5-3 with a 1.18 ERA. He struck out 59 and walked 12 in 71.1 innings. Davis also is the quarterback for the Stratford football team.
