Friday night SportsTalk host Rick Sanford announced he is stepping away from his radio duties to focus his energy on his health. The former USC All American safety, the Gamecocks’ first 1st round draft pick, and seven year NFL veteran, revealed he is suffering the effects of CTE. As such, Sanford does not feel he can competently continue his broadcasting role. Sanford has been on the air in the Columbia market for more than 20 years. He also is a member of the USC Hall of Fame and the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
