#STRecruiting: Georgia OT has #Gamecocks #1

Cedrick Nicely

USC offensive line coach Eric Wolford has the Gamecocks in the top spot with OT Cedrick Nicely (6-5 305) of Gainesville, GA. Nicely said Tuesday night USC is his favorite at this point ahead of Georgia Tech, South Florida and Liberty. But he said he’s not ready to commit. That won’t come until sometime during his season. Or it could happen on his official visit September 5th.

“They are number one, but my recruiting is still open,” Nicely said.  “I’ve been there before for games and a junior day.  It’s a good community.  Their facilities are nice.  When I go up there they make me feel like I’m at home.”

No one on the Gamecock staff makes him feel more at home than Wolford. They have developed a close relationship during the recruiting process as Wolford has put in the work to convince Nicely he needs him.

“I’ve been talking with Coach Wolford every day, he texts me or he calls me, like two times out of the week,” Nicely said. “We have a strong relationship.  He’s somebody I can talk to if I’m feeling bad or something.  He’s not afraid to start a freshman.  He knows how to get players in the NFL.  And he’s coached in the NFL, so he knows what it takes. He said he likes the way my feet work and how I’m mobile on the field. But he said there’s stuff I need to work on.”

Nicely also has offers from Southeast Missouri, Elon and Eastern Kentucky. He is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, and is unranked by 247Sports.
