#STRecruiting Notebook 5-5

Will Shipley

Tuesday is announcement day for five-star RB Will Shipley (5-11 198) of Matthews, NC. Shipley announced on Instagram Monday night he would reveal his decision Tuesday afternoon. From his nationwide offer list, most recruiting analysts believe Shipley narrowed his decision to Clemson and Notre Dame, with the Tigers holding the edge. Ohio State, Duke, North Carolina, Stanford and NC State were also strong with him during the process. Shipley is more than a running back as he’s also a dangerous receiver in the slot. He is ranked the #1 all-purpose back in the country and the #1 prospect in North Carolina. Last season he rushed for 2066 yards and 30 touchdowns and caught 34 passes for 582 yards and 8 touchdowns. Shipley has had a lot of exposure to Clemson. He camped with the Tigers and landed an offer from them last July. He also went to a pair of games last season and was in for a late January junior day. He had hoped to visit Notre Dame this spring but the pandemic nixed those plans.

USC offered RB Antario Brown (6-0 215) of Savannah, his 1st offer. Brown is a speedster who claims a 4.38 forty on his Twitter page. He also posted that he ran a 4.34 in a camp. Rivals rates him a three-star; he has not 247Sports rating.

Former USC OL commitment Issiah Walker of Miami is in the Transfer Portal according to multiple reports. Walker committed to the Gamecocks in May of 2018 and decommitted in July of ’19. He later signed with Florida and enrolled in January. Miami and Florida State were his other leaders before his Florida commitment.

LSU offered Gaffney DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins.

York WR Da’Shawn Brown was offered by Georgia Southern.

2022 Greenville OL Collin Sadler was offered by Oregon.

6-9 Cesare Edwards of Hartsville was offered by Providence. He’s a Clemson and USC target.

2022 6-7 Julian Phillips of Blythewood was offered by Ole Miss.
