Three-star DE Travali Price (6-4 263) of Lincolnton, NC has long held an offer from USC. Last week, the Gamecocks offered his half-brother, FB Jayden Tate. The two would love to play together in college and the Gamecocks are one of the programs offering that opportunity. Price has been hearing regularly from Gamecock coaches and with his brother will continue to give them strong consideration.
“I hear from them about once a week,” Price said. “They are just telling me how they want me and how Ill fit in. I’m hearing from Coach (Will) Muschamp and Coach (Bobby) Bentley. I like USC. I’m ready to come and visit, see a game.”
The fact the Gamecocks have offered Price and his brother certainly is a factor in their favor.
“Its a big factor,” Price said. “I’ve been playing with my brother sense we were six, so it is very important.”
Tate is not as heavily recruited as Price in terms of offers, but USC, NC State and Louisville are three which have offered both at this point. Price also has offers from Kansas State, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, UCF, Penn State, Virginia, Arizona State, Missouri, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Tennessee, Duke and East Carolina. His process is far from finished.
“No short list and I’m open to everyone now,” Price said. “I want to ee some games and take some officials. I probably won’t decide until October. I want to visit many schools. I have to find my fit.”
Price is ranked the #22 weakside defensive end in the country in the 247Sports Composite and the #19 prospect in North Carolina. He’s coming off a season of 84 tackles with 21 for loss and 5.5 sacks.
“I’m an edge rusher,” Price said. “The coaches like my athleticism. I’m weighing 263 now and I plan to be 270 going into college. I’m ready,”
Price said he and his brother will sign in December and both will enroll in January.
