Strom Thurmond DE Brandon Williams said he’s made his decision on a college and will announce it May 6th. His choice came down to Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. He also considered offers from West Virginia, Army, Air Force, Akron, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Old Dominion and Western Carolina. He camped at USC and Clemson last summer, went to games last season and went to a USC junior day, but he did not generate great interest from either. Williams also can play tight end but prefers defense.

DT Will Thomas (6-3 286) of Raleigh said he continues to hear from USC every so often, talking with Tracy Rocker and Drew Hughes. The Gamecocks offered Thomas in March knowing he’ll first have to make a stop at a junior college. He also has offers from Tennessee, Duke, Liberty, Old Dominion and NC Central. East Carolina also is showing interest. Last season Thomas had 65 tackles and 5 sacks.

Gaffney DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins named a top 13 Thursday and USC is on his list.  The others are Oklahoma, Auburn, Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, NC State, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Texas A&M and North Carolina. He has visited USC, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Georgia.

USC offered LB Thomas Davis (6-2 225) of Valdosta, GA. He committed to Mississippi State last month. He also has offer from Georgia Southern, FAU, Kent State, East Carolina, Tulane, Coastal Carolina, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee and Cincinnati. Last season Davis had 45 tackles with 16.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks.

USC target 2022 DE Enai White of Philadelphia was offered by Alabama.

USC offered 2022 DT Santana Hopper (6-2 285) of Shelby, NC.

USC offered 2023 OL Antonio Tripp of Owings Mill, MD.  He also has offers from Maryland, Penn State and Liberty. 

USC offered 2023 CB Chris Lawson of Chapel Hill, NC.

York WR Da’Shawn Brown was offered by Appalachian State.

Sumter DE Miles Capers was offered by Appalachian State.

2022 LB Jaylen Sneed of Hilton Head was offered by Oregon.

SC State basketball signees: 6-2 Theumus Fulks, Lexington, NC; 6-5 Floyd Rideau, Lake Wales, FL; 6-3 Brandynn Manning, Merritt JC, CA; 6-10 Sebastian Guitian, Florida South Western JC; 6-6 Latavian Lawrence, Gray Collegiate.

The USC women one of the top six with 6-4 Sherri Feagin of Ellenwood, GA. The others are Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Georgia, Ole Miss and Louisville.

6-2 Kowacie Reeves of Macon, GA, who had a Clemson offer, committed to Florida.

Charleston Southern lefthander Jaret Bennett committed to USC as a grad transfer. The 6-2 native of Maryland was 3-5 with a 5.30 ERA in 2019. In four 2020 stars, he was 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA. He had 24 strikeouts in 25.1 innings.
