Kerry Tharp gives details of NASCAR’s return at Darlington (AUDIO)

Darlington Raceway already was set for a special year with the Bojangles Southern 500 set as the first race in the postseason. Now, NASCAR has chosen the track as the place to restart the season. Racing returns May 17th with a 400 miler at the Lady In Black. Three days later, a 500 kilometer (310 miles) race will be run. Then the circuit moves to Charlotte for two races. No fans will be allowed at these races. Media, outside of NASCAR’s TV partners, at this point also will be banned.

Darlington President Kerry Tharp joined us on SportsTalk Thursday night to shed some light on these new plans by NASCAR.
