#STRecruiting: #Clemson joins favorites list with new offered DE

Clemson defensive end target Dallas Turner

Clemson jumped back into the defensive end market for the 2021 class last week after losing the commitment of Korey Foreman. The Tigers immediately went to work offering three of the other top defensive ends on their board. One of them was Dallas Turner (6-4 235) of Fort Lauderdale. Turner is rated a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and is a national recruit. And Clemson has joined the mix of his favorites.

“They just recently started recruiting me and I was very excited to receive the offer,” Turner said. “It’s just another opportunity to go to free college at a very prestigious school. I’m not going to take it for granted. I’ve always viewed Clemson as a very prestigious school. And all the national championships they’ve won. It was like a blessing, honestly.”

Turner also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas, Stanford, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Michigan, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Florida State, Miami and LSU. He’s not formulated a favorites list but when he gets around to a top ten or so, Clemson will be there.

“They are still high on my list,” Turner said. “Now they are in the top ten. Coach (Lemanski) Hall and Coach (Brent) Venables like my my quickness and my motor, just how I play the game.”

Turner plays the game fast off the edge. Last season he recorded 74 tackles to go along with 16 sacks.

He has visited Georgia and Alabama and has set an official visit this summer with Michigan. He said Alabama and Georgia also would get official visits, and Clemson “most likely” would get one.

Turner is ranked the #6 weakside defensive end nationally and the #18 prospect in Florida in the 2021 class.
