#STRecruiting: North Carolina athlete is tight with Muschamp

Breon Pass has multiple options to consider

USC coach Will Muschamp has his eyes on another plum prospect in North Carolina. Multi-skilled, multi-sport ATH Breon Pass (6-0 160) of Reidsville, NC is used all over the field in high school. And he’s also a basketball prospect garnering offers in that sport as well. Muschamp is communicating heavily with Pass hoping to intercept him from the likes of Mack Brown at North Carolina and others.

“They are at the top of my list right now, we’ve been texting about every day,” Pass said. “Me and Coach Muschamp have been texting every day mid-morning. We’ve been keeping in contact over the time. He wants me there very bad. I can come in and make a big impact to their team. He just sends me positive posts every morning, and I really appreciate that from him.”

Pass can play on either side of the ball. He can run it. He can catch it. He can defend against it. Muschamp tells him he wants him with the ball in his hands.

“Wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball,” Pass said. “He would be using me a lot because of my ability as an athlete. I can be used around the whole field. Really just receiver, though. I play receiver, slot and outside. I really just play everything to help my team. I play cornerback.”

Last season Pass caught 42 passes for 752 yards and 13 touchdowns according to MaxPreps stats. He also rushed for 208 yards and 2 scores. On defense, Pass had 23 tackles with 1 interception and 8 pass deflections. Last basketball season he averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game.

Pass has yet to visit USC but he plans to once he can get back on the road. From what he’s seen on video and heard from the coaches, he can’t wait to check it out in person.

“From the whole staff and the videos, the atmosphere down there is crazy, and the coaches are showing a lot of love and support,” Pass said. “The atmosphere down there on game days is outstanding. That’s one good thing I like from them.”

Other schools standing out with Pass right now are North Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, Duke, East Carolina and Tennessee. He is undecided which sport he plans to pursue in college, of if he’ll try to play both. He plans to decide the route he will pursue after the summer. He will not be an early graduate, and when he’ll sign will depend on which sport he plans to play.

Pass is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports combine. He’s ranked the 67th wide receiver in the country and the #24 prospect in North Carolina.
