#Clemson goes extras before defeating Winthrop (VIDEO)

Clemson had to work overtime Wednesday night to extend its winning streak to fieve games. Chad Fairey delivered a two-out single in the bottom of the 11th to give the Tigers a 3-2 win over Winthrop. The Tigers trailed 2-1 going to the bottom of the 9th. Pinch-runner Sam Hall scored from second on an infield single by Davis Sharpe and an error on the throw to first. In the 11th, Elijah Henderson led off with a double, went to third on a single by Kier Meredith, and scored on Fairey’s base hit. Keyshawn Askew started for Clemson and allowed 5 hits and 1 run over 4.2 innings. Four relievers pitched hitless ball the rest of the way. Nick Hoffman pitched the 11th to earn the win and is 2-1. Clemson is 14-3 and opens a seven game road trip Friday at Wake Forest.
