USC finished off Cornell in impressive fashion Sunday afternoon at Founders Park completing the three game weekend sweep 6-1. The Gamecocks outscored the Big Red 26-6 in the series and extended their winning streak to 4 games. Starter Brannon Jordan struck out 10 over 5 innings, and allowed 2 hits and 1 run. He lowered his ERA to 1.71 and improved to 2-0 on the season. Four relievers allowed just 3 hits and struck out 6 more, and the Gamecock pitchers gave up just 2 walks. Offensively, the Gamecocks got homers from Jeff Heinrich, Brady Allen and Andrew Eyster. The Gamecocks are 11-4 and will host The Citadel Tuesday night. They will open SEC play at home this weekend against Tennessee.
