
Clemson is off to a 3-0 start in ACC play after a 7-6 win over Boston College Sunday afternoon at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers produced the winning run in the bottom of the ninth without getting the ball out of the infield. David Sharpe led off with a walk, pinch-runner Sam Hall stole second and went to third on a sacrifice bunt, and beat the throw home on a slow roller to short by James Parker. The Tigers trailed 6-3 after 4.5 innings, but tied the game with single runs in the 5th, 7th and 8th innings. Hawkins and Dylan Brewer had 3 hits each, with Brewer delivering a pair of doubles. Spencer Strider started and gave up 4 runs. Mat Clark followed and allowed the other two runs to the Eagles. Geoffrey Gilbert and Carson Spiers finished up with Spiers earning his 3rd win of the season. The Tigers are 12-3 and have a five game week coming up with Presbyterian and Winthrop at home Tuesday-Wednesday and a trip to Wake Forest for a weekend series starting Friday.
