USC pitchers Carmen Mlodzinski, Graham Lawson and Trey Tujetsch combined on a 6 hit shutout, and the Gamecocks put 6 runs on the board in the top of the 1st, as they defeated Holy Cross 10-0 Friday afternoon in their season opener at Founders Park. Mlodzinski, making his first appearance since breaking a bone in his foot early last season, earned the victory allowing 6 hits and striking out 3 over 7 innings.
Southern Miss transfer Bryant Bowen ripped a three-run homer in his first Gamecock at-bat to spark the first inning rally.
