The Clemson and LSU football teams each spent an hour Saturday morning at the Xavier University Convocation Center taking questions from the media as the buildup continues for Monday night’s National Championship game. Clemson was first on the floor. Head coach Dabo Swinney, coordinators Tony Elliott and Brent Venables, and star players Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Isaiah Simmons and Tanner Muse had their own small, elevated stages from which to take questions, while the rest of the players sat around large tables spread throughout the center.
The event was open to the public and some fans of both teams took it in. Both teams will practice Saturday, Clemson at Tulane University and LSU at the Saints practice facility. Sunday morning Swinney and LSU head coach Ed Orgeron will have one more media session at the Sheraton Hotel on Canal Street.
