Malcolm Greene

Clemson and LSU could meet in the national championship game next month in New Orleans. But the Tigers scored a recruiting victory over the Bayou Bengals on National Signing Day Wednesday by flipping SAF Malcolm Greene (5-11 180) of Highland Springs, VA to their lair. Greene had been committed to LSU since October, but Clemson recently turned up its interest and he took an official visit last weekend.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and secondary coach Mike Reed visited with Greene last week and that set the wheels in motion for Greene’s change of heart.

The Tigers will lose three senior safeties from this year’s team, and Greene gives them three safeties for this year’s class.

Some of Greene’s other offers included Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan and Georgia Tech.
