Hammond DE Jordan Burch has moved up his announcement to Wednesday at 2:30. The private event will be televised by ESPNU. His down to USC, Clemson, LSU, Georgia and Alabama. Burch apparently took an official visit to Georgia over the weekend based on a video he posted on SnapChat. That would be his third official visit with the others to LSU and Alabama. Burch went unofficially to USC and Clemson during the recruiting process. He did visit USC during the season but his last visit to Clemson was in July.
USC commitment DT Alex Huntley of Hammond confirmed Sunday that he took an official visit to Virginia over the weekend. Huntley has been committed to the Gamecocks since June when he picked them over Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU, Texas and Stanford. He has always maintained his commitment to the Gamecocks was strong, but the talk about Will Muschamp’s job security earlier this month prompted him to follow thru on a promise to the Virginia coaches to visit there. Huntley does not plan to sign until February.
TE Jaheim Bell of Valdosta, GA is set to announce and sign Wednesday at 1:00 PM with USC, Florida State and Oklahoma his finalists. USC has been in good shape with Bell for several months since his official visit in June. Last week Will Muschamp, Mike Bobo, Bryan McClendon and Bobby Bentley all went in to visit with Bell and his mother in their home.
USC commitment Marshawn Lloyd confirmed on Twitter Sunday night he will sign his LOI with the Gamecocks Wednesday. He visited unofficially over the weekend.
Another Gamecock commitment, TE Eric Shaw, tweeted Sunday night he will sign Wednesday at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
Byrnes DB Buddy Mack took an official visit to Pitt over the weekend. He’s currently committed to Charlotte.
USC offered FS Cameron Faison, a native of Notasulga, AL who will enroll at Dodge City JC, KS in January with hopes of spending just one season there. Faison is a teammate of Gamecock commitment Eric Shaw.
FS Sheldon Arnold of Loganville, GA received a PWO opportunity from USC.
Fort Dorchester LB Darryle Ware plans to join USC next season as an invited walk-on.
Maryland offered 6-5 Bryce McGowens of Wren.
2023 RHP Reese Marcum of Lexington committed to USC.
