
Nebraska transfer WR Miles Jones (5-8 175) visited USC Saturday. That visit came a week after he visited Florida State. Miles played in 4 games this season as a redshirt freshman and did not record a catch. He had 1 catch as a true freshman in 2018 before suffering a season ending shoulder injury. Miles entered the NCAA Transfer Portal about two weeks ago. He would have to sit out the 2020 season unless he gets an NCAA waiver, and he would have to years to play. Jones is from Miramar, FL. Back in 2018, Jones first committed to Vanderbilt before flipping to the Cornhuskers. Some of his other offers at that time were Georgia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Mississippi State. At Miramar High School, Jones played a lot of running back and in his career rushed for 1279 yards and 17 touchdowns according to MaxPreps stats. He also has 57 catches for 806 yards and 3 touchdowns. And he returned 3 kickoffs for touchdowns in his career.
According to Rivals, USC target Len’Neth Whitehead of Athens, GA has postponed his scheduled announcement for Friday. He said he’s torn between USC and Tennessee. Whitehead took another unofficial visit to USC last Saturday and wants to visit Tennessee again before making his decision. He has been recruited for both running back and linebacker and said in the story he wants to focus on being a running back in college.
2021 WR JJ Jones of Myrtle Beach plans to visit Duke Saturday.
ATH JD Moore of Abbeville committed to Charleston Southern.
USC basketball commitment 6-10 Patrick Iriel of AC Flora signed his letter-of-intent today. Another Gamecock commitment, 6-8 Ja’Von Benson of Ridge View, will sign Thursday.
Clemson Wednesday signed its two committed recruits, 6-10 PJ Hall of Dorman and 6-7 Olivier-Maxence Prosper of Quebec.
LB DJ Lundy (6-0 225) of Ocilla, GA listed USC in his top five along with West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
Tennessee was in Tuesday to check on USC target LB Desmond Tisdol.
2021 DL Lee Hunter of Mobile, AL lists Clemson and USC in his top 12. Others are Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Oregon and Ole Miss.
Shrine Bowl OL Parker Clements (6-7 271) of Lugoff-Elgin has seen his offer list climb to nearly 20. “I have a total of 17 offers right now. The biggest of them being Virginia Tech, NC State, Kansas State, Louisville, and App State. I’ve taken multiple game day unofficial visits to Virginia Tech and App State, along with NC State this past Saturday and East Carolina a few weeks ago. And I plan on taking an official to Virginia Tech in early December.” Clements said he’s getting no recruiting interest from USC and Clemson.
2021 OL Drake Davis of Camden made an unofficial visit to USC For the Appalachian State game. “I got an official invite up there. It is a very nice place, great atmosphere and fan base is incredible. They said they have been keeping an eye on Camden.” Davis plans to visit Appalachian State in two weekends.
