Marshawn Lloyd will have a running mate at running back in the 2020 recruiting class at USC. Rashad Amos (6-0 210) of Tyrone, GA announced a commitment to the Gamecocks Tuesday night giving Will Muschamp and Thomas Brown the two running backs they were seeking for this class. Amos previously was committed to Western Kentucky but he decommitted last week after having visited USC for the Vanderbilt game and picking up a Gamecock offer. He picked up some other major offers after that but they all fell short of what he feels the Gamecocks have to offer.
“They told me they liked my film and they feel like I was a guy that can play there,” Amos said. “Out of all the schools that I’ve been to, South Carolina had a good vibe to it. I liked the energy they had. They were very engaged with all the recruits that came and they talked to all of us one on one, and I liked that about them. I liked the environment that they had at the game.”
Amos has set his official visit to USC for the second weekend in December. Tennessee, NC State, Colorado State and Boise State were some of the other programs to offer Amos once he went back on the market. He also held offers from Maryland, East Carolina, Coastal Carolina and South Alabama.
As a junior Amos rushed for 1136 yards and 17 touchdowns. He gives the Gamecocks 19 newcomers for their 2020 class and a total of 22 counting in the class with the addition of three graduate transfers. That leaves room for three more takes in the 2020 class for Muschamp.
