The Tigers received 1476 points in the voting, two more than the Crimson Tide. Ohio State remained third and Clemson fourth. LSU also earned enough points to slide past Clemson into second in the latest Coaches’ Top 25 ranking. LSU received seven first place votes, four more than last week, and improved its overall point total by 29 to 1515. Clemson held the same as last week with 10 first place votes but the Tigers lost three overall points. Both are chasing Alabama which received four fewer first place votes this week with 40. Ohio State picked up the other eight first place votes and sits in fourth. Penn State moved up a spot to fifth replacing Oklahoma which dropped ninth after the loss to Kansas State.
