One of the recruits on hand for USC’s game with Florida was 2022 DE Garrett Gordon (6-2 240) of Carroll, GA. Gordon also plays linebacker and tackle. The Gamecocks got their first look at Gordon last summer in camp. The Florida game gave him his first chance to see the Gamecocks in person in a game setting. It was a good experience for Gordon and he hopes to see the relationship blossom from there.
“I love everything about South Carolina, the academics in the school, the facilities, and just the atmosphere,” Gordon said. “I’m starting to develop a good relationship with coach (Mike) Peterson. I look forward to my next visit there.”
Gordon also has visited Tennessee and Georgia Tech. This Saturday he plans to visit Clemson for the Boston College game.
“I’ve done some research on the school (Clemson) and I have seen nothing but good,” Gordon said. “As for football, I can’t wait to see the facilities. I’ve heard they are some of the nicest in the nation. I’m just excited to get up there and witness the atmosphere.”
Gordon said he also plans to visit Auburn and Ole Miss, and he’s going to take another visit to Georgia Tech. He said Colorado is also showing interest.
