Linebacker T.J. Brunson and the Gamecocks had plenty to celebrate after knocking off third-ranked Georgia in Athens, Saturday. But according to Brunson, the team has put Georgia behind them and are focused on the next challenge: The Florida Gators (Travis Bell/SIDELINE CAROLINA)

Several Gamecocks players met with the media just days after pulling off a monumental upset in Athens by knocking off third-ranked and previously unbeaten Georgia. But according to seniors Javon Kinlaw, Tavien Feaster, TJ Brunson and others, the “24-hour rule” was in effect and South Carolina is no longer in celebration mode. Center Donnell Stanley explained the frame of mind, “We celebrated, Saturday, and we’ve got a 24-hour rule, so you know, Sunday, we were back and focused on Florida. It was fun and glad it happened, but we’ve got more season to go.”

Brunson, who had one of his better performances as a Gamecock, sounded like he was reading off the same script, “We had 24 hours to enjoy the win … It was a big win and everything, but for us, in here, we’re focused on Florida.”

South Carolina hosts Florida, Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Williams-Brice Stadium.
