Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney addressed the media during his weekly teleconference following his team’s dominant 45-14 win over division rival Florida State. After dismantling a once proud program, Saturday, Swinney has turned his attention inward, “You watch the tape and there’s so much we’ve got to improve on. There’s a lot of stuff we’ve got to get cleaned up on both sides of the ball … not great on third down and the biggest thing on both sides is (improving) our depth. Super proud of our team, but we need another good week of practice.”
But Swinney also took plenty of time to praise the play of Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and the 1st-team defense, which limited Florida State to 63 yards in the first half. The Tigers’ next challenge is at Louisville, noon Saturday. Clemson has opened as a 22-point favorite over the Cardinals.
