Jake Bentley’s season could be over (Travis Bell/SIDELINE CAROLINA)
USC coach Will Muschamp Tuesday confirmed senior quarterback Jake Bentley suffered a Lisfranc injury to his foot on the last play of the game in Saturday’s loss to North Carolina. Muschamp said if no surgery is required, Bentley would be out 6-8 weeks. Surgery would end his season. He said he’ll know more about that situation later in the week. True freshman Ryan Hilinski will assume the starting quarterback job this week against Charleston Southern.

WR OrTre Smith and WR Randrecous Davis, who did not play against UNC due to injuries, are expected to play this week.
DE Aaron Sterling has some swelling on his surgically repaired knee and did not practice today but should be fine for Saturday.
Donell Stanley will move from left guard to center, Jordan Rhodes will start at left guard, and Jovaughn Gwyn and Eric Douglas will be at left guard.
He believes the injury to Bentley occurred on last play of the game. Bentley told the trainer he had some soreness, an MRI was taken Sunday night and that’s when the extent of the injury was determined.

With the OL there was too much push in the middle and that was affecting Bentley in the pocket. It eliminated their ability to throw deep. He said they called 17 deep passes where primary read is vertical down the field.
