Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney engaged with the media after his Tigers’ first practice in full pads, Thursday. Coach Swinney said he’s pleased by the team’s “very positive energy and guys about their business,” and the competition along the defensive line was “awesome.”

Derion Kendrick, a player that is being tracked by fans and media as he transitions from wide receiver to defensive back, was limited in practice due to a “tweaked” hamstring and was wearing a yellow non-contact jersey. Linebacker Jake Venables was also wearing a yellow non-contact jersey due to a hamstring injury.

Coach Swinney also addressed the progress of the offensive line and the leadership provided by its veterans.

Clemson will hold its first scrimmage Saturday.
