Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich met with the media at the conclusion of the Clemson Media Outing and Media Olympics, Tuesday.

Coach Swinney echoed his defensive coordinator’s thoughts on linebacker James Skalski from earlier in the day. Both Swinney and Brent Venables are excited to see Skalski in his expanded role this season. While Skalski has toiled in obscurity to this point in his collegiate career, Swinney promised that, if healthy, the football world would know about Skalski soon.

Swinney also critiqued his championship quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. Swinney made it clear he’d like to see Lawrence leverage his mobility in his sophomore campaign and create more opportunities outside the pocket. Swinney is also excited about the talent he’s seen in the defensive back seven, noting this could be the most talented group of linebackers and defensive backs he’s had at Clemson.

DABO SWINNEY:

Radakovich fielded questions regarding a wide range of subjects including Clemson’s role in forwarding the ACC Network and hosting the first major sporting event on the network. Radakovich also addressed the logistical problems with changes suggested for the College Football Playoff and why he’s not in favor of nine conference games for the ACC.
