
C/INF Colin Burgess (5-10 180) of Lexington, KY committed to USC for the 2019 class. Burgess primarily is a catcher and he signed with Wichita State in November. But he got his release from this LOI after the Shockers fired head coach Todd Butler in late May. In stats compiled by MaxPreps, for his career Burgess batted .367 in 99 games with 15 home runs and 70 RBIs. His father played pro hockey and his mother played college softball.
OF/IF Anthony Amicangelo of Johnson County JC, KS committed to USC. He’s a native of Washington and a former Washington State commitment. This season he earned first team junior college All-American honors after hitting .492 with 6 homers and 68 RBIs. He missed most of the 2018 season after suffering a torn labrum in his shoulder.
USC commitment RB Marshawn Lloyd tweeted from The Opening Tuesday night that he’s not planning to change his commitment despite a strong push from Georgia. “No flip. I’m a Gamecock,” Lloyd wrote. He has taken his official visit to USC and has said he plans to visit Georgia for the Notre Dame game.
USC target DE Myles Murphy of Greensboro, NC has narrowed his list to USC, UNC, Florida and Alabama leading up to his announcement Monday. He told TV station WFMY he has basically made his decision. He will announce at 3:00 PM during a ceremony at his school.
USC recruiter and LB coach Coleman Hutzler spoke Wednesday with linebacker target Desmond Tisdol of Rochelle, GA. Tisdol has been torn between USC and Auburn.
2022 6-6 Julian Phillips of Blythewood was offered by Georgia Tech.
