DE Myles Murphy of Greensboro, NC will take his official visit to USC this weekend with his parents alongside. Tuesday night Murphy declared the Gamecocks as his favorite over a field that includes North Carolina, LSU, Florida and Alabama. So, with the Gamecocks out front heading into the visit, that certainly puts Murphy on commitment for the weekend.

“It’s a chance but I want to look around and go on to some other visits,” Murphy said.

He took an unofficial visit to USC in February so he wants to use this visit to get more information on the school as a whole.

“I’ve already seen most of it from my first visit and this time I want to look into getting more details,” he said. “Like how they prepare classes day in and day out.”

USC coach Will Muschamp has been a personal recruiter of Murphy along with his assistant coaches.

“They’ve been on me a lot, show me a lot of love,” Murphy said. “Coach Muschamp the most. He texts me a lot each week and we’ve talked liked twice. I feel great about that. They make me feel welcomed. They want me as a pass rusher coming off the edge, so I know I’ll be playing on the end and giving them a good pass rush, or whatever they want. I will be a perfect fit for it.”

Murphy also has official visits set with Florida, Alabama and North Carolina the three weekends following the USC visit. He also plans to set a visit with LSU.

“As soon as I’m done with my officials I am making my decision,” he said. “I want to get all of them out of the way and make my decision.”
